Professional career

Fernando is a partner at BAYLOS. Before that, he was a founding partner of FJF Legal, and an associate at SALVADOR FERRANDIS IP LEGAL and DEL VALLE ABOGADOS. He advises his national and international clients about all matters relating to Intellectual Property, Unfair Competition and New Technologies. He specialises in lawsuits in these fields, in both civil and criminal courts. In recent years, he has participated in major lawsuits in various business and industrial sectors, such as fashion, watchmaking, jewellery, luxury products, Premium trademarks, beverages and soft drinks, perfumes, food, advertising, telecommunication, chemistry, art, nutrition and others. His professional activity also includes consultancy in contract and pre-lawsuit matters. He has extensive experience in cross-border lawsuits. His specialisation also covers plant varieties and geographic indications.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law at Central University in Barcelona and Alcalá de Henares University (1995).
  • Masters’ Degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies at the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs) (1996).

He has participated in researches and publications on advertising and unfair competition, and is author and co-author of several articles and books on Intellectual Property.
He is a collaborator in postgraduate training programs, masters and specialization courses, among which the Master in Intellectual Property and New Technologies of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In addition, he has been invited as a speaker at various national and international conferences, as well as at a number of Intellectual Property seminars. Among his latest presentations is the one he gave at EUIPO, at the seminar organized by the AIPPI at EUIPO "Trademarks, Designs and more - AIPPI at the EUIPO", in April 2018, in which he spoke on Design Protection in practice.

He also collaborates with different institutions, being often invited to give lectures by and on behalf of professional associations, bar associations, universities and police.


Collaborator in postgraduate, masters and specialisation course training programmes, with his participation since 2015 in the Masters’ Degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies at the Madrid Autonomous University standing out.

He also collaborates with various institutions and is frequently invited to be a speaker at and for lawyer’s associations, universities and the police.
