Pedro Merino Baylos
Pedro is a partner of BAYLOS since 1996 and since February 2017 he is President of the Spanish Group of the AIPPI. Between 2011 and 2016 he was "Of Counsel" of OLSWANG in Spain. He advices his national and international clients on Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition matters. He specializes in lawsuits on these matters and more specifically on patent issues. In the last years, he has participated in important patent lawsuits in different sectors such as the pharmaceutical one, telecommunications, wind turbines and diverse industrial machinery. His professional activity also includes consultancy on contracts and pre-lawsuit matters. He has gained extensive experience in cross-border lawsuits.

Recognition and awards
During his over 22 years experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, he has been nominated on several occasions among the most prominent lawyers in patent lawsuits by the prestigious directories WHO’S WHO LEGAL, IAM and CHAMBERS among others. Furthermore, he has been mentioned during several years by the directory BEST LAWYERS.
Author of many articles and regular speaker in conferences both in Spain and abroad on Intellectual Property Rights. Among his publications, it is worth highlighting his participation as coauthor in the book "The New Law on Patents. Act 24/2015 of 24 July" published in 2015 by the publishing house ARANZADI; or the article of which he has been coauthor "Case-law doctrine on compensation for damages in Intellectual Property Rights" published by the Spanish Group of the AIPPI in 2005 in the Book homage to Alberto Bercovitz.
Invited lecturer in the Patents module at the Magister Lvcentinvs of the University of Alicante (since 2016).
Regular speaker in courses and conferences, both held in Spain and abroad.
