Paloma Arribas

PROFESSIONAL CAREER:

 Paloma has been a partner at BAYLOS since 2019. She previously worked at ALBIÑANA & SUÁREZ DE LEZO, ABRIL ABOGADOS, IECISA (IT at El Corte Inglés) and PONS IP in the field of data protection, new technologies, e-commerce, intellectual property and technology transfer, providing advice on compliance with the data protection regulation, performing regulation compliance audits in this field, participating in strategic consultancy for intangible asset management and preparing Trade Secrets Protocols. Her training in law and IT consultancy firms has given her a broad overview of the clients, adapting to their processes and offering them practical solutions to protect their intangible assets. Paloma has extensive experience advising media outlets, digital companies, marketplaces and e-commerce. Through the ICT and data protection departments at BAYLOS, she develops projects for compliance with General Data Protection Regulation and Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights, and provides advice on the application of the new regulation. Paloma is Data Protection Officer certified under the Certification Scheme of the Spanish Data Protection Agency, conducting proceedings before the Spanish Data Protection Agency and the courts. She also provides general advice on information protection and rights over intangible assets.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Valladolid (2001).

  • Practising lawyer since 2005.

  • Certified as Data Protection Officer by the AEPD scheme (2019).

  • Certified as Data Privacy Professional by ISMS Forum and Data Privacy Institute (2019).
